June 2025

Thank you to our amazing parents, students, and teachers.

The excitement during these first few days of school has been overwhelming for all of us here at DLTS International School. As I walk through the buildings, it is incredibly rewarding to see so many happy faces. From the very beginning, my dream was for us to become an international school. This is our first official start of the year as a recognised international school and as a PYP and MYP candidate school.

This journey of personal and institutional growth is not an easy one, but it is deeply rewarding—especially when we consider all the many young lives that will benefit from this journey.

Our focus has always been on preparing students for the future through strong academics. In keeping with the Denla brand, this focus will never change. Now, with the added benefit of implementing both the PYP and MYP frameworks as a candidate school, we can further enhance our commitment to delivering a world-class, cutting-edge education for our students.

Over the past five years, our school has grown and developed more than any school I have ever been involved with or known about. This growth goes beyond academics—it includes the significant expansion in our facilities that can be seen by everyone. While we are still in the early stages, the impact of these new facilities is already evident. It is fair to say we have only just scratched the surface of what they will ultimately bring to our community.

Our academic strength and new facilities will help us nurture well-rounded students who will benefit greatly from a wide range of opportunities in academics, athletics, and the arts. With so many new opportunities, we firmly believe we are shaping students who are not only ready to contribute meaningfully to Thailand but also to thrive in the wider world.

Welcoming a Transformative Academic Year

As we begin the new academic year, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our students and families. This year marks an exciting chapter in our journey as we continue to grow as a leading international school in Nonthaburi and greater Bangkok.

We are proud to announce that we have now launched our candidate programmes for both the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). Students from Grades 1 to 5 are now engaged in the PYP, while Grades 6 and 7 are pioneering the MYP, with more levels to follow in future years.

These programmes are designed around student-centered, inquiry-based learning. Students explore big ideas through projects and real-world tasks, developing critical thinking, creativity, and independence. Approximately 50% of their final (summative) assessment will come from these extended inquiry tasks, while the other 50% will reflect traditional knowledge-based assessments, ensuring a well-rounded academic experience rooted in both the American and British school systems. Parents can expect regular (formative) feedback from teachers at least every two weeks via Toddle. These formative marks do not count towards the final grade and provide a low-stakes way for us to communicate about students’ progress.

Over 75% of our teachers have now completed official IB workshops, each requiring about a month of rigorous training. Our highly qualified professionals are the heart of our growing school and their completion of this additional training is enhancing every aspect of our curriculum, aligning with the best practices of international schools around the world.

This year, we are also introducing a school-wide reading competition, culminating in MAP testing designed to benchmark student progress against the standards of an average American high school.

As we work toward full IB authorisation and prepare for WASC accreditation, we remain committed to excellence across every department. We are looking forward to a year of growth, innovation, and world-class education at DLTS.

DLTS International School Preschool News Release – Start of the 2025 Academic Year

Dear DLTS Families,

Welcome to a brand-new school year at DLTS International School! We are thrilled to open our doors once again to our wonderful preschool students and families, both new and returning. This year marks an exciting chapter for our growing community as we begin the 2025 academic year with more than 200 students enrolled across our two campuses.

We are proud to highlight several exciting updates and improvements to our learning environment. At our PKS campus, we’ve unveiled newly renovated classroom spaces and a brand-new swimming pool, ensuring a fresh and engaging start to the year. Over at the Rama 5 campus, students will enjoy updated sand and water play areas, along with dedicated new spaces for Thai and Chinese language learning and an updated cooking classroom—all part of our continued effort to enrich the daily experience for every child.

As part of our commitment to supporting the social-emotional development of young learners, we are also proud to introduce ‘calm corners’ in every classroom this year. These peaceful spaces will help children learn to self-regulate, reflect, and restore focus throughout their day.

Our students are already looking smart and confident in their new school uniforms, and we’re especially excited to introduce House Color sport uniforms for our preschoolers—building a stronger sense of identity and community from the earliest years.

Looking ahead, we are excited to invite all families to join us for one of the year’s most anticipated events—Preschool Sports Day—to be held on Saturday, July 5th in our beautiful new Building 3 facility at Rama 5 campus.

Here’s to a joyful, inspiring, and playful year of learning together!

Welcome to the New Academic Year in PYP!

A warm welcome to the new academic year in our Primary Years Programme (PYP)! Whether you are a returning family or joining us for the first time, we are delighted to have you with us on this exciting journey. The start of the year has been a positive one, with students settling in smoothly and classrooms already filled with energy, curiosity, and the joy of learning.

We are especially thrilled to mark the beginning of our International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) as a candidate school. This is an important milestone for our school community, as we embrace an internationally recognised framework that nurtures student agency, inquiry, and a global mindset. Our students will develop essential skills and attitudes that prepare them not only for academic success but also for becoming thoughtful, caring, and active members of the DLTS community and beyond.

As part of our effort to enhance communication and make learning more visible to families, we are pleased to announce the launch of Toddle. This platform will allow you to stay better connected with your child’s learning journey, receive timely updates, and celebrate their progress throughout the year.

Looking ahead, we have a number of enriching events planned that will support excellence in academics, while also offering a wide variety of opportunities in the arts, sports, and learning beyond the classroom. We believe in educating the whole child and are committed to providing a balanced programme that meets the diverse needs and interests of our students.

We are looking forward to a year of growth, collaboration, and shared success. Thank you for your continued partnership.

Here’s to a wonderful year ahead!

DLTS Middle School Highlights – A New Chapter Begins!

Dear DLTS Families,

I am delighted and filled with pride as we embark on this incredible journey together at our new Middle School, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

Our school is not just a place of learning; it is a vibrant community where we strive to embody the values and principles of the IB learner profile every day.

I am excited to announce that we will be recognizing and celebrating our students who exemplify the IB learner profile attributes through our monthly certificate awards. These awards will honor students who demonstrate traits such as being principled, caring, open-minded, and reflective in their actions both within our school and in the wider community. By acknowledging and celebrating these attributes, we are not only fostering a culture of respect and understanding but also encouraging our students to become well-rounded global citizens.

Looking ahead, we have a multitude of exciting opportunities for our students to engage in. Our Student Council activities will provide a platform for student voice and leadership, allowing our young learners to make a positive impact within our school community. Speech competitions will challenge our students to articulate their thoughts and ideas with clarity and confidence, while math competitions will stimulate their problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.

Furthermore, we are committed to providing our students with meaningful community volunteer opportunities, enabling them to contribute positively to society and develop a sense of social responsibility. By actively engaging in these activities, our students will not only enhance their academic skills but also cultivate a sense of empathy and compassion towards others.

I invite all students, parents, and staff to join us on this exciting adventure ahead. Together, we will continue to nurture a learning environment where curiosity, creativity, and collaboration thrive, preparing our students to become compassionate, knowledgeable, and principled individuals who will make a difference in the world.
