Safety First: A Strong Foundation for Learning at DLTS International School
At DLTS International School, safety is at the heart of our overall educational environment and culture.
This month, our campus successfully carried out a series of safety drills, including Fire Drill, Active Shooter Drill, and Earthquake Drill—a vital part of our comprehensive emergency preparedness program.
These drills were conducted across all levels: Early Years Programme (EYP), Primary Years Programme (PYP), and Middle Years Programme (MYP), ensuring that every student, teacher, and staff member knows how to respond in case of an emergency by practising their roles, reviewing safety procedures, and assessing response time. Each scenario was practiced with great care and precision, from timely evacuations to effective communication and coordination.
We invited Nonthaburi district officials along with a firefighting team and ambulance, creating a valuable learning experience for the entire school community and giving the official representatives a real-world opportunity to practice safety protocols and procedures.
These activities are closely connected to the goals of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme and our progress toward meeting global education standards of WASC. In line with our commitment to the IB philosophy, such safety exercises support the development of responsible, informed, and confident learners. Knowing how to act in critical situations empowers students to take ownership of their well-being and to care for others around them.
These safety drills protect students and, at the same time, teach them valuable life skills such as resilience, teamwork, and awareness.
